Role
Welcome and agreed customers and scan all purchased goods following company procedures, ensuring accuracy of all transactions, and to help with packing when required, giving a high level of customer service at all times.
Greet customer to the check-out area, and make them feel welcome by making eye contact, smiling and speaking to them but never carry on a conversation with another member of staff when serving a customer
Scan customer shopping through the check-out, ensuring all items are scanned through and charged for, and that the speed of scanning matches the speed of packing, to avoid build- up of goods
Give each customer with thanks the exact balance and accompanying till receipt, ensuring sufficient money is taken and registered and correct change given back to customer
Provide assistance to customer wherever possible by packing the shopping in absence of the porter, maintaining the company service standard
Make sure closing down at end of shift is always agreed with supervisor and always confirm all breaks during shift are agreed with customer service supervisor before leaving the check-out
To ensure that IMS Health and Safety and Hygiene procedures are maintained within your section by maintaining a tidy till area, and clean up or report any breakages or spillages immediately
May be required to carry out ad hoc duties for the company within the scope skills and experience
Requirements
High Secondary Certificate
Spoken English & Arabic
Minimum of 1year in similar role, with emphasis on customer service
Experience of cash handling & till balancing
