The Head Chef will manage the kitchen activities and improve quality of service and food. You will be the first in command in the facility and will create and inspect all meals before they leave the premises ensuring high quality and contentment. Everything that goes out of the kitchen is the responsibility of the Head Chef. It is essential for the position holder to maintain total control of the kitchen at all times and to have the respect of the kitchen staff.

• Able to identify problems and resolve them quickly and efficiently, maintain a level head and delegate various kitchen tasks simultaneously;
• Maximizing the productivity of the kitchen staff,
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Ensure quality dishes are served on schedule and approving all prepared food items before they leave the kitchen;
• Modify and create new menus;
• Estimate food consumption and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality and controls food cost at reasonable and agreed level;
• Ensure there is proper equipment operation/maintenance and safety and sanitation in kitchen and arranging repairs when necessary;
• Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff and liaising with HR Department;
• Arrange the purchasing of food ensuring that the ingredients the kitchen is using is of top quality, and that staff are being mindful of the cost by having good control over food, water and energy waste;
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers
• Monitor food inventory, estimate and plan food consumption and order supplies accordingly;
• Ensure all areas i.e. kitchen, stores, fridges are maintained at highest level of hygiene and cleanliness;
• Able to make smart decisions instantly;
• Conduct and assist in all inventories and keeping records of same;
• Offer suggestions that will make improvements to the kitchen’s performance;
• Undertake any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time;
• Organise duty roster for staff;
• Provide regular and ad hoc reports to Co-owners;
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers.

The deliverables of the position are critical to Quality, Promptness, Hygiene, Safety, and innovation.


• Minimum required Education and/or Experience:
• Minimum of 6 - 8 years of culinary experience out of which 2 years must be as a Head Chef or acting head chef with exceptional proven ability of kitchen management. It is essential that the individual has worked in batch or banqueting cooking environment.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Leadership Skills
• Planning and organizing
• Ability to manage a budget and work with figures
• Ability to work under stressful conditions
• Up to date with culinary trends and optimising kitchen processes
• Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
• Credentials in health and safety training desirable
• From Hotel or or high end, restaurant background
• Must already be located in KSA
